Avia Performance gym Coburg North offers three major programmes, all of which start at just $20 per week. If you are unable to visit our gym Coburg North, we offer an online customised training programme. This programme is not one-size-fits-all; we tailor each online training programme to our clients’ specific needs and objectives.

Personal Training

Headed by Co-Director Vinay Srinivasan, our gym Coburg North has an experienced team of personal trainers available 7 days a week.

Our staffed hours are for the convienence of our clients and you can find our personal trainers available early morning and late afternoon through to evening every day.

Our personal training programs are individualised and include nutrition, as we take a holistic approach to fitness.

Clinical Treatment

Recognising that gym users often will need to visit a physical therapist at some point due to injury, strain or pre existing condition, our directors decided to bridge the gap by teaming together. 

Our clinical treatment is lead by Luke Troiani. Working closely with his Co-Director Vinay Srinivasan they have been able to ensure their clients acheive optimal physical health.

We believe that having clinical treatment onsite in our gym Coburg North sets us apart from our competition and gives an advantage to our clients health.

Our clinical team offers musculoskeletal therapy, physiotherapy and acupunture.

CompetitIve Weight Training

We are proud to specialise in competitive weight lifting training. We have hosted many competitive weight lifting competitions at our gym Coburg North. Most recently we hosted one in March 2021. You can see the results here.

Frequently Asked Questions

How old do you have to be to start weightlift training?

We highly recommend that if a child is wanting to start weightlifting that they are coached by a professional.

Strength training, on the other hand, can be a vital part of an overall fitness regimen as early as age 7 or 8, as long as the child is mature enough to follow directions and can practise good technique and form.

What to eat before the gym

It is best to eat 2-3 hours before going to the gym and not eat anything in the 30 minutes leading up to your workout.

What to wear to the gym

It is important that your wear comfortable clothes that absorb the sweat. Loose clothing isn’t recommended but that doesn’t mean you must wear figure hugging outfits – it is essential you are confident in your attire. You need well fitted sneakers and for woman a well fitted sports bra. We recommend that you purchase exercise specific clothing.

How often should you go to the gym?

This all depends on your goals. At the very least you should aim for 3 workouts per week. If you find yourself struggling to commit to that amount – remember any exercise is better than none.

  • Clothes to get changed into after your workout
  • Water bottle
  • Healthy snack for after your workout
  • Sweat towel – it is polite to wipe down the equipment after use
